Your Questions to Andrea McLean:
Hi. A week or so ago on Loose Women you mentioned you have regular facials but couldn't say what it was. What type of facial do you have? Are you able to give me the name or, if not, a clue?! You look amazing. Love Loose Women.
(off Michelle)
Hi Andrea, On Loose Women a week or two ago, you mentioned that you have a facial and that it involved numbers... I can't work out this cryptic clue - would you mind letting me know what sort of facial you mean, please, as I love your skin and tone of your face and hope there's hope for mine!
(off Dee)
Hi Dee, hmm, I don't remember mentioning a facial that involves numbers. but I have had ones that involve letters? Before my wedding I had a series of CACI facials, which are supposed to firm that face and make you look more awake - two things I could do with. They were great, I could do with having a load more, it's been months since I had a facial!
Hi, I was just wondering where you bought the white t-shirt with black shimmer on the sleeves which you wore on Loose Women on Dec 7.
(off Sara)
Thanks Sara, it's a favourite from Top Shop.
Can you tell me where you got that beautiful pink and black top please. I saw you on the 14th Dec show and fell in love with it, I have to find one!
(off Emma)
Thanks Emma, a few people have commented on this one, which is nice. It's actually a dress with a straight black skirt. It's new and from NEXT.
Hi Andrea, I absolutly LOVE Loose Women and watch it every day. If I miss it I have to watch the repeat in the early hours of the morning! I think you do a fantastic job presenting loose women. You seem really confident and relaxed all the time. Do you have any tips on how to maintain confidence?
(off Emma)
Hi Emma, it's funny that you think I'm confident because I'm really not! I think I have just got comfortable and settled on Loose Women, and feel like I am chatting with friends rather than being at work, so you get to see the real me. Keep smiling if you don't feel confident and just pretend that you are, that's how I got through the first few months on the show as I was terrified!
Hi Andrea You recently did a photoshoot at your house for Fabulous magazine. I loved the dark wallpaper in your lounge to the left of your fireplace and wondered where you purchased it? Thank you.
(off Kate)
Hi Kate, I'm glad you like the house, it was worth the blood, sweat and tears! Although we still have wires hanging where lights should be in some rooms, I don't seem to notice them any more. I ordered the wallpaper through an interior design shop in Epsom called JDecor. They should know what it's called and where to get it.
Hi Andrea I sent you some printed lovehearts to the loose women studio as a gift, did you recieve your package, please advise.
(off Steve)
I'm afraid I didn't get them Steve. Somehow gifts and letters seem to slip through the net as I get regular messages like this, so I will look into it. Thank you for thinking of me anyway.
Hi Andrea, I saw a picture of you at Coleen Nolans book launch and you were wearing a pair of thigh length boots. You looked amazing and seem to be getting younger by the day. Can you tell me who makes those boots and if we'll see you wearing them again! Thanks -
(off Katie)
Thanks Katie, I think I'm just less knackered as I don't have to get up at 3.30am for GMTV any more! My boots are from Russell and Bromley and I'll probably wear them when it gets cold again.
Hi Andrea, I really miss seeing you on the TV in the mornings presenting the weather on GMTV - even when it was raining you made it bearable. Would you like to go back and do the weather one last time or did you have enough of the early starts!
(off Joe)
Hi Joe, I don't think I could face the early starts again! I loved the job while I was doing it, and I miss my friends but I definitely don't miss the mornings.
Hi there, I remember you presenting the weather from Royal Ascot. You were wearing Ugg boots(I think) to begin with, and you said the ground was 'squelchy'. A short while later you had changed into shoes. Did
the wet ground not ruin your shoes and make them uncomfortable for the rest of the day? (off
Mark)
Hi Mark, one word answer this... yes!
Hi Andrea, I noticed you said on Loose Women today Thursday that you are not trendy!! Well I think you always look fab and I think I have spotted you wearing a second earring in each ear which is very trendy. Have you just had your ears pierced again as I have never noticed you wearing more than one earring in the past. (off
Gareth)
Hi Gareth, gosh how observant! I've had my second piercing for years now, but the reason I've started wearing an earring there again is quite daft. Steve bought me a lovely pair of earrings and I lost one. I figured I'd never get any wear out of it unless I used it this way. It's great, I forget it's there now!
Hi Andrea, the other week on Loose Women they were talking about Twitter. I know that Carol & Sherrie are both on there. Would you ever use it? (off
Katy)
Hi Katy, no I don't use Twitter or Facebook, I don't have time!
Hi Andrea, I was watching Loose Women the other day and you mentioned a book you that you loved because of it's beautiful writing style. What was the name of the book, I really want to buy it! (off
Susan)
Hi Susan, I have lots of favourites, but the book I meant was Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks; I think it's beautifully written.
Hi Andrea, I'm 15 but I ABSOLUTELY love Loose Women! (I record it everyday...). My question is: there have been many queries about whether Loose Women is actually live? (off
Hayley)
Hi Hayley, the show is live on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday and Friday are pre-recorded 'as live', so we do it in exactly the same way just on a different day.
Hi Andrea, I really enjoy watching Loose Women, and think you are a very delightful and down to earth presenter its a treat to watch. Well to my question, I was wondering if you had any plans in the future of perhaps going into films ? And if you did which sort would you wish to be in ? (off
Mark)
Hi Mark, hmm... I hadn't thought about going into films, but never say never! I have no idea what kind of film I could be in, something gentle I think, I'm not very good at shouting and waving my arms around. Also, I hate horror or violent films, so nothing like that. Maybe a Doris day remake, that would be great!
Blast from the past Hi Andrea Do you still rollerskate around green scummy swimming pools in your spare time... Which is still there and green ( according to Google Earth). (off
Gideon)
Hi Gideon, how funny to hear from you! No, I haven't roller skated for a VERY long time, probably not since we last saw each other in Trinidad. I'm too old and rubbish now, sadly!
Hi Andrea, we are just about to start building work to create a family room/kitchen. I think your 2 tone kitchen looks fantastic and I was wondering where it came from???
(off Maria)
Hi Maria, good luck with the building work, it is stressful but worth it! We got your kitchen from Crown Kitchens in Dorking in Surrey.
Hi Andrea, Great site. Miss you doing the weather in the mornings. I often used to admire how great you looked. I wish I had your legs! I often thought you were bare legged. Is this the case or did you wear very sheer nude tights? If you did would you mind telling me the brand so I can attempt to make my legs look more like yours. In general though what brand do you tend to go for?
(off Ellen)
Hi Ellen, I don't really like nude tights, so I always put on a bit of fake tan, or I use a leg spray from L'Oreal called Glam Bronze. It looks great, better than tights.
I Love Loose Women but wish your guests had a wee bit more time in their interviews. they just get to the interesting bit of their interviews and then they have to
stop (off Gill)
Hi Gill, Thanks for this, I'll pass it on to the Loose Women team.
Hi Andrea, I'm currently studying Geography, History, Maths and Sociology at Townley Grammar School For Girls and I am very interested in a further career in weather. I would just like to ask you whether you have any tips for me for the future.
x (off Rebecca)
Hi Rebecca, they all sound like very interesting subjects. The best place to get information about what you might need for a career in weather is the Met Office website, it's a fantastic site for anyone interested in the weather, either as a career or just checking to see what is going to happen for the next few days. Go to
www.metoffice.gov.uk/training
for career information. Good luck!
Hi Andrea, Hope you are keeping well. Could you tell me where you have hair done as it always looks lovely? Watching you at GMTV with a lovely long figure & shape, I read that you were the tallest female, but I then read it was Jackie
Kabler, are you taller than Jackie? Many thanks and hope to see you on more & more on TV, as we all love you
(off Jade)
Hi Jade, I get my hair done at the Richard Ward Metrospa in London. And I think Jackie and I are about the same height, about five feet seven inches tall. I think I just wear higher heels!
Hi Andrea I just thought that I would ask how do you stay so totally beautiful, of all the times I see you on tv you are never anything but perfect. I think that yourself and Sandra Bullock are two of the most beautiful women that there have ever been on the big, or small screen. I hope there are many years of TV left in you, so you continue to brighten up the day for all who watch you.
(off Dave)
Thank you Dave, that's very kind.
Hi Andrea, you are always dressed so nicely, which are the main shops to shop in please, thanks
(off Mel)
Hi Mel, I shop in any high street shop I happen to pass when I have time! On Loose Women we are dressed by a lovely girl called Hannah who gets our things from Debenhams, Warehouse, French Connection or any of the other high street stores.
Hi Andrea, I'm 15 but I ABSOLUTELY love Loose Women! (I record it everyday...). I have two questions, sorry if thats cheeky! First question is does the live show differ from watching the show at home? Obviously, there are going to be some changes, but what are some major ones? I'm actually going to be part of the audience for my 16th birthday in three months and I was just wondering about any big changes so I know what kind of things to expect. Also, my second question, I've wanted to be a journalist since I was about 6 and I was just wondering if you could offer me any tips? Thanks and keep up the amazing
work! (off Vicky)
Hi Vicky, I'm sure you're going to have fun in the audience, most people seem to enjoy it! There's not really any difference in the the live shows or the pre-recorded ones, we treat them both the same and tend to keep going unless something major goes wrong. In terms of being a journalist, the best start is your local paper or radio, ask them if you can help out, make tea, photocopy - anything, to get experience of what it feels like in a newsroom environment. Then show you are interested in writing, come up with ideas and show you are keen. You have to go out and get it, it won't come to you. Good luck!
Hi Andrea, did you go to San Fernando Convent in Trinidad and Tobago ? My wife Angelique says she recognized you on
tv. It will be nice if it is and wish you all the best with your
succes. (off Bernard)
Hi Bernard, yes I did, I went to St Joseph's Convent in San Fernando for three years, and loved it.
Hi Andrea, Great news about Jane and Carol's engagements but when are you and Steve going to get
married? (off Paul)
Hi Paul, we are getting married later this year, can't wait!
Hi Andrea, Just a query, I'm sure Eammon Holmes mentioned today that you arrived on your bike.... seeing that you are an avid racing fan, do you ride bikes as
well, and if so what? Just curious really as I myself ride an R1 and its quite rare to find a fellow female motorcyclist.
(off Fiona)
Hi Fiona, Hmm... I have been a passenger on motorbikes and loved it, but I don't ride myself. I know Jackie Brambles arrives in the morning on a chauffeur bike so maybe he got us mixed up?
Congratulations on Millionaire, very well done.... Just wondering, do you intend to increase your time on Loose Women or stay the same?
(off Nick)
Hi Nick, there has been stuff in the press saying I am going to be doing Loose Women full time, but I'm not, I will still be sharing it with Jackie Brambles as I did before, which I really enjoy.
Hi Andrea, I will miss you telling us the weather in the mornings, I used to look forward to it. Best of luck for the future. Will you continue with your website? From one of your many fans.
(off Dougie)
Hi Dougie, yes I am going to continue with the website, and I am going to be much better at keeping it up to date!
Andrea, where did you buy your fantastic black high heels from the platform ones you wore on
GMTV? (off Dale)
Hi Dale, I have had so many people ask about those shoes, in both the black and the red. I got them from French Connection.
Hi Andrea...love your work! Sorry to ask you yet another question about your fashion choices, but I would kill to know where you got your gorgeous red patent t-bar high heels from that you wore on
GMTV. I'm sure you'll remember the day as it isn't everyday that a young music star says 'you is well fit!' They are the shoes of my dreams....if only I had your legs! Best wishes,
(off Vicky)
Hi Vicky, they are from French Connection, and they are actually quite comfortable for 'killer heels'!
Hi Andrea, we love the shoes you wear, where do you buy your shoes from ? They are so high I don't know how you managed to present the weather in them. Did you ever consider presenting the weather in bare feet?
(off Carol)
Hi Carol, don't tell anyone, but before they changed the look of the weather and showed our legs I used to present either in bare feet, Ugg boots, trainers or flip flops. Anything for comfort at that time in the morning! I only started wearing the high heeled shoes when people could see my legs and I thought I'd better start making an effort!
You had a very nice range of jackets when you presented your weather outside. On your last show you even gave Kate one of your coats - the red puffer jacket - and she was admiring the blue coloured one you had on during your last show. I would just like to ask where you bought these jackets, I have searched high and low but cannot find them. I would be very gratful if you could help me.
(off Joanne)
Hi Joanne, I've had a lot of people asking about those jackets! They are from Mountain Equipment, and they are very warm with big pockets for keeping stuff in, which I find very useful.
Hi Andrea, best of luck in whatever you decide to do we all wish you well, I enjoyed watching you start on LOOSE WOMEN and you seemed so nervous, but became a natural very quickly. John still has your autographed photocard from years ago after the Meridian course and he wishes you well all the way from SEATTLE USA, he's modelling and acting there! You always look great in everything you wear, keep it up----what are you going to be doing next please?
(off Ann)
Hi there, at the moment I'm just enjoying the fact I don't have to get up so early, and I'm finally unpacking our boxes after moving house. I have a couple of things lined up for this year, but I will let everyone know what I'm up to nearer the time.
Good luck Andrea. My question is are you doing more weather on TV?
(off David)
Hi David, no more weather for me! I presented the weather for 12 years, so I think I have done my bit. I'd like to try my hand at something different now.
Hi Andrea, I wanted to ask you if you are happy and settled in your new
house? Best wishes for 2009, you are great on Loose Women. (off Susan)
Hi Susan, thank you, we are all just settling in now, finding homes for things, and unpacking boxes. I think I'll still be sorting stuff out this time next year...
Hi Andrea, I watch Loose Women and was wondering, you do seem to be a type of Snow White. Does this annoy you or do you take it as a compliment when a people keep saying this about you. Kind Regards
(off Dave)
Hi Dave, it doesn't annoy me at all, I think it's very funny. I suppose I am a bit 'Snow White' in some ways, so I can see why they call me it, and compared to some of the names we call each other I think I've got away lightly!
I don't really have a question just wanted to say what a great website you have, it's the first time I have visited it. Also I was in the audience at the last Loose Women show as I am a Jane fan, but wanted to say that you are all lovely ladies and I thoroughly enjoyed the professional and friendly afternoon. Not many chat shows REALLY involve the audience as Loose does. Kind regards and keep up the fabulous work.
(off Tony)
Thank you Tony, I think the live audience get to see a little bit more than the people at home, especially the jokes that get told which are a bit too rude for daytime
TV.
Our mornings without you will be cloudy from now on. I wish you all the very best in life and love for the future.
(off Barrie)
Not a question Andrea, just want to wish all the best for the future and glad your still gonna be on TV on Loose Women. Good luck in whatever you do.
(off Joe)
Hi Andrea, which school did you go to in Trinidad? I went to St Xaviers between 1980 and leaving 1984, aged 12.
(off Jenny)
Hi Jenny, I went to St Josephs in San Fernando from 1981 until 1984 when I retuned to the UK aged 14.
Andrea, How come you look so WOW! on Loose Women? I enjoy the show but prefer it when you are on. Best regards
(off Barry). PS. Sometimes you wear too much make-up.
Hi Barry, that's how I look wow - it's because the very talented make-up people on Loose Women do such a good job! I will let them know you think it's a bit much sometimes though.
Hi Andrea, saw you and lovely Steve in Croydon at Jane's concert. Was this your 1st Jane concert? If so are you hooked like the rest of
us, Jane must be the most underrated entertainer in the country.
(off Emma)
Hi Emma, yes Jane is fantastic. It was the first time we'd seen her perform live, and we'll definitely go again, it was such a fun night out.
Hi Andrea, I heard you were writing a novel, when is it coming out?
(off Annie)
Hi Annie, I am embarrassed that I mentioned writing a book because loads of people have been asking me about it. I think it is at what you would call the 'first draft' stage, and I have no idea if or when I will get it done. It may well end up being something that sits in my drawer and never sees the light of day, so don't hold your breath!
